Thurs 9 Sep - Jury retires in Watson trial
The jury in the Scott Watson murder trial is now considering its verdict after the judge finished summing up the case at three o'clock this afternoon.
Justice Heron told the jury that the central issue to the long-running case is the identity of the man last seen with Ben Smart and Olivia Hope as they boarded a yacht on New Year's morning last year.
He's cautioned the jury to take care when considering evidence from witnesses identifying murder accused, Scott Watson, as accounts may not be accurate for various reasons.
Justice Heron also told the jury that the fact Watson didn't take the stand in his own defence should not be seen as a sign of guilt.
